EFC Uganda, a licensed microfinance institution overseen by the Bank of Uganda, has recently announced a strategic move to streamline its operations by closing down five of its non-deposit-taking service centers. This decision aims to optimize business processes and enhance collaboration within the banking sector.

The affected service centers include Kireka, Mukono, Nateete, Kalerwe, and Nansana. Kireka, Mukono, and Nateete centers are set to cease operations on November 21, 2023, while Kalerwe and Nansana centers will be closed by December 31, 2023.

However, EFC Uganda is ensuring that its services will continue without disruption through its cash handling branches, located at Kamwokya Branch on Kira Road and Ndeeba Branch on Masaka Road.

Additionally, customers can conveniently access EFC’s services through its Easy Mobile Platform, facilitating both MTN MoMo and Airtel Money deposits, with detailed information available on the official EFC website. Deposits can also be made through their partner banks.

The company emphasizes its commitment to providing accessible and convenient banking services for its customers. EFC Uganda acknowledges the importance of maintaining the reliable service that its customers have grown accustomed to.

The company reiterates its dedication to contributing to the growth of Uganda’s private sector by increasing access to financial services for underserved Micro, Small, and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the market segment.

EFC Uganda’s decision to close these service centers appears to be a strategic move aimed at improving operational efficiency while maintaining the quality of service for its customers.
