The Vice Governor of Liaoning Province, H.E Wang Jian, engaged in a courtesy call meeting with Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga, the Minister for the Kingdom Kampala Building. The meeting, held at the minister’s office, highlighted the flourishing relations between Uganda and China, with a focus on enhancing trade volumes.
Hon Rebecca Kadaga, expressed her appreciation for the robust ties between the two nations and commended the pivotal role played by President Yoweri Museveni and H.E Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China in fortifying diplomatic relations.
During the meeting, Kadaga assured the visiting delegation of the government of Uganda’s total support towards the Liaoning Busoga Consortium Cooperation Saccos. This support aims to transform the consortium into a global symbol of China-Africa local cooperation.
H.E Wang Jian’s visit to Uganda is marked by a scheduled signing ceremony for a Trade Cooperative Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Busoga and Liaoning Products Trading Center Co. Ltd. The collaboration is anticipated to bolster trade relations and contribute to increased production volumes in Uganda.
In a Tweet, Hon Rebecca Kadaga expressed her delight in hosting Vice Governor Wang Jian, emphasizing the importance of the trade agreement with the Busoga Consortium for Development.
The agreement focuses on the production of maize, soybeans, beans, and cassava, showcasing the diversity and depth of the collaboration.
Hon Gume, representing the Ministry of Trade, was also present, highlighting the multi-sectoral nature of the collaboration.
Looking ahead, the Parish Development Model will be utilized to ensure efficient production, guaranteeing a market for agricultural products in the Liaoning Province.
