Fire guts Keshwala Group’s factory in Jinja, scores left jobless

IdeasHouse couldn’t get a comment from the Managing Director Mr Ranmal Keshwala but the police said they reached the factory early and mobilised other factories that provided firefighting equipment.

Jinja: Billions of Uganda Shillings were lost and scores rendered jobless after Keshwala Group’s factory and Head office in Masese, Jinja city was gutted by fire this morning. The cause of the fire that started at 3am has not been established at press time.

Keshwala Group since 1980 is Uganda’s leading manufacturer, distributor and transporter. It has over 2,500 employees with over 750 fleet with 63 branches.

Some of the property and goods include the main building, vehicles, the main office, soap and cooking oil.

IdeasHouse couldn’t get a comment from the Managing Director Mr Ranmal Keshwala but the police said they reached the factory early and mobilised other factories that provided firefighting equipment.

The Group specializes in manufacturing, import, export and distribution with the aim to serve with purpose by bringing affordable and indispensable products across the country and region to allow families the comfort and possibility of enjoying the quality brought to them with ease and at leisure.
